ACERBIS ADV TYPE H HANDGUARDS FOR BMW F 900 GS

On an adventure motorcycle, the hands, levers and control assemblies are exposed to airflow, flying debris and contact with obstacles. Acerbis ADV Type H handguards create a solid wrap-around barrier developed for the BMW F 900 GS 2024–2025. They provide useful protection for long-distance touring, gravel roads and light off-road riding.

ALUMINIUM BACKBONE AND PLASTIC COVER

The system divides protection between two complementary elements. The aluminium profile carries the main mechanical load during contact, while the generously sized plastic cover creates a broad shield in front of the rider’s hands.

Compared with a simple open plastic cover, the ADV Type H structure provides additional protection for:

• brake and clutch levers

• master cylinder assemblies

CLOSED 35 MM ANTICORODAL C-SECTION

A 35 mm C-section made from ANTICORODAL aluminium forms the structural backbone. It runs in front of the levers and creates a continuous protective loop between the mounting points. When the motorcycle contacts a branch, stone or another obstacle, the plastic cover is therefore not required to carry the mechanical load alone.

Acerbis developed the structure for adventure and light off-road use, with strength suitable for the demands associated with maxi-enduro, cross-country and more challenging enduro riding.

SHELTER FROM WIND AND DEBRIS

The large plastic covers reduce direct exposure to airflow, water, mud, dust and flying stones. Upper extensions increase the protected area and provide additional shelter during fast road sections and journeys in poor weather.

The handguards therefore serve not only as mechanical protection away from paved roads, but also as useful wind and weather coverage during long-distance touring.

ROOM FOR ACTIVE RIDING

When the rider stands on the foot pegs, body position moves forward and the knees may approach the handguards. The lower area of each cover is more flexible, allowing it to move during contact and helping soften impacts against the rider’s knees.

ADV Type H handguards are designed for the handlebar and control layout of the BMW F 900 GS 2024–2025. The mounting system uses numerous standard components and offers a simpler installation process than Acerbis Endurance handguards.
