Lumbar support belt for motorcycling and cycling

The Acerbis Baket is an elastic lumbar belt designed for motorcycle and bicycle use both on and off road. It supports the lower back, helps stabilise the lumbar area and allows the level of compression to be adjusted according to the rider’s body and activity.

Four steel reinforcing stays, a flexible structure and dual adjustment straps help keep the belt correctly positioned during active movement. Perforated elastic sections and breathable fabric also support airflow during motocross, enduro, road riding and cycling.

Lumbar support while riding

The belt wraps around the lower torso and provides even support around the lumbar area. It helps limit unwanted belt movement during long periods of seated riding, standing on the footpegs and moving through technical terrain.

Its construction can help reduce the strain placed on lower-back muscles by vibration, repeated changes of position and prolonged riding posture. However, the belt is not a medical device and does not replace professional assessment or treatment of back pain.

Four steel reinforcing stays

The rear section contains four steel reinforcing stays that support lumbar stability. They help the belt retain its shape and reduce rolling or folding when the rider leans forward, moves on the motorcycle or wears the product for extended periods.

Their arrangement provides support without requiring the entire rear section to be formed from one rigid panel. The belt therefore retains the flexibility required for active riding.

Dual compression adjustment

The main belt closes using a hook-and-loop fastener. Two additional elastic straps allow the rider to adjust compression and customise the level of support.

Lighter compression can be used during longer road rides, while additional tightening can help stabilise the belt during active off-road riding. The adjustment also accommodates different clothing layers.

The belt should fit closely without restricting breathing, causing numbness or creating uncomfortable pressure.

Flexibility for natural movement

The elastic construction follows torso movement when leaning forward, rotating the body and shifting weight. It can therefore be used when riding seated, standing on the footpegs or moving away from the motorcycle.

Flexible side sections allow the abdomen and chest to expand naturally during breathing while helping keep the rear support correctly positioned.

Perforated and breathable construction

The elastic sections are perforated to encourage airflow and help reduce heat and moisture build-up underneath the belt. Breathable fabric makes the product suitable for physically demanding riding and warmer conditions.

Ventilation is particularly beneficial during slow technical enduro and motocross training, where the rider produces substantial body heat without receiving strong cooling airflow from speed.

Depending on the equipment used, the belt can be worn over a thin base layer or underneath outer motorcycle clothing.

Hook-and-loop fastening

The wide hook-and-loop closure allows the belt to be fitted quickly and adjusted continuously rather than relying on a small number of fixed positions.

The additional compression straps also use hook-and-loop fastening. Once secured, they remain close to the body and do not unnecessarily interfere with riding or additional clothing layers.

Before use, check that the fastening surfaces are clean and fully engaged.

On-road and off-road use

The Acerbis Baket is designed for motorcycle and bicycle activities both on and off road. It can be used for motocross, enduro, ATV riding, road touring, mountain biking and other activities requiring flexible lower-back support.

Its low-profile construction can be combined with motorcycle trousers, jackets and upper-body protectors. Before riding, check that the individual pieces of equipment do not push against one another or restrict normal movement.

Selecting the correct size

The belt is available in S/M, L/XL and XXL. Selection should be based on waist circumference while taking into account the clothing layer over which the belt will be worn.

The correct size should provide sufficient overlap at the main closure and leave adjustment range for both elastic compression straps. A belt that is too large may not provide adequate support, while one that is too small can restrict movement and breathing.

Important information

The Acerbis Baket is intended as a supportive lumbar belt. It does not replace a certified motorcycle back protector, and the manufacturer does not list EN 1621 impact-protection certification for this model.
