Ergonomic junior construction

The collar is shaped around the neck and shoulder area to match junior body proportions. Its rounded construction helps maintain a stable position and limits concentrated pressure points.

The compact junior design avoids unnecessary bulk and leaves room for the young rider to follow the track naturally. When fitted correctly, it permits the head rotation, forward movement and extension required for motorcycle control.

The collar should rest evenly on both shoulders without leaning to one side, pressing into the neck or moving significantly during normal activity.

Soft and comfortable padding

The contact surfaces use soft materials that improve comfort when worn over a functional base layer or together with a motocross jersey.

Padding creates a cushioned surface around the neck and shoulders and separates the child from the firmer inner core. Rounded edges help reduce uncomfortable pressure around the collarbones, shoulders and upper back.

Removable fastening system

Removable and washable padding

All padding can be removed from the construction and cleaned separately. This simplifies regular maintenance after riding in dust, mud or warm conditions.

The instructions on the product label should be followed. Every padded section must be completely dry and correctly positioned around the collar before reassembly.

The firmer components should be cleaned by hand using a damp cloth. Aggressive cleaning agents, solvents and high temperatures may damage the foam, plastic or textile materials.

Simple fitting and removal

The straightforward construction allows the protector to be fitted before riding and removed after training without complicated handling. This is especially useful for children’s equipment, where correct use should be easy to check.

Before every ride, inspect the position on the shoulders, fastening system and condition of the padding. The collar must not be twisted, deformed or covered by another component that changes its position.

Use with a junior helmet

The collar is designed for use with a correctly selected junior motocross or enduro helmet. Sufficient space must remain between the collar and the lower helmet edge for normal head movement.

In a standard riding position, the helmet should not continuously compress the collar, lift it from the shoulders or push it towards the face. The collar must also sit high enough to remain stable on the shoulders.

Compatibility should be checked while seated, standing on the footpegs and leaning forward over the handlebars.

Use with junior body protection

The Acerbis X-Round Pro Kid can be combined with junior chest, back or complete upper-body protection. The individual components must not push one another away from their intended positions.

The upper sections of the body protector should not lift the collar towards the helmet. Shoulder components must not cause the neck protector to rest unevenly on only one side.

The full setup should be tested together, including the helmet, jersey and any jacket being used.

Freedom of movement for young riders

A correctly fitted collar should leave sufficient movement for following the track and controlling the motorcycle. Normal head rotation, observation of the surroundings and changes of riding position should not be painful or excessively restricted.

The actual range of movement depends on the child’s proportions, selected helmet and other protection. Where the collar presses against the helmet, moves significantly or restricts vision, the equipment setup should be adjusted.

Recommended use

The protector is particularly suitable for:

No protective product can prevent every injury. The collar should therefore be used together with a correctly selected helmet, body armour, gloves, boots and other equipment appropriate for the rider’s age and activity.

CE certification

The manufacturer lists the Acerbis X-Round Pro Kid as CE certified. No Level 1 or Level 2 rating is specified under the standards used for chest, back, shoulder and elbow protectors.

Pre-ride inspection

Before every use, inspect:

• the outer material,

• the shape of the internal core,

• the condition and cleanliness of the padding,

• correct connection of the fastening system,

• any cracks, tears or deformation,

• compatibility with the helmet and body protector.

A damaged or permanently deformed collar should not continue to be used. It should also be inspected after a significant fall, even where no obvious damage is immediately visible.
