All-season body armour with complete Level 2 protection
The Acerbis X-Fit Future Level 2 Body Armour is a close-fitting upper-body protector designed for motocross, enduro, mountain biking and other sporting activities. It combines soft viscoelastic chest, back, shoulder and elbow protectors with a flexible Dryarn base layer. The construction follows the rider’s body, maintains freedom of movement and helps manage heat and moisture during physically demanding riding.
All main protective areas provide certified Level 2 protection. The sides also contain two-layer perforated viscoelastic inserts that extend coverage around the torso. A side zip makes the armour easier to put on, while the protective inserts can be removed before washing the textile garment.

Level 2 chest protection
The front contains an ergonomically shaped chest protector made from soft viscoelastic material. Its low-profile construction follows the torso without creating the resistance associated with extensive rigid plastic panels.
During an impact, the material helps absorb and distribute part of the transmitted energy. The close-fitting textile construction also keeps the insert near the body, helping it remain correctly positioned while leaning forward, controlling the handlebars and changing position on the motorcycle.
The chest protector complies with EN 1621-3, Level 2, the higher of the two protection levels defined by this standard for motorcycle chest impact protectors.
Level 2 back protection
The back protector follows the spinal area and adapts to the natural curvature of the rider’s back. Its flexible construction supports forward lean, torso rotation and transitions between seated and standing riding positions.
The low thickness reduces bulk underneath a motocross jersey or additional clothing. The stretch base layer helps keep the back protector close to the rider and limits unwanted movement during active riding.
The back insert complies with EN 1621-2, Level 2. The selected size must keep the protector over the intended area without allowing it to rise towards the neck during movement.
Level 2 shoulder and elbow protection
Extended soft viscoelastic inserts protect the shoulders and elbows. Their flexibility allows natural arm movement when operating the motorcycle, raising the elbows and shifting body weight.
The protectors are housed inside close-fitting sleeves that help stabilise them over the corresponding joints. This removes the need for bulky plastic connections or several separate fastening straps.
Both the shoulder and elbow inserts comply with EN 1621-1, Level 2. Their position should be checked before every ride to make sure they correctly cover the joints and do not move excessively.
Additional side protection
Two-layer perforated viscoelastic inserts extend coverage around the sides of the torso. During normal movement, the material remains soft and flexible.
Perforations help limit heat accumulation underneath the protective material. The inserts are held directly against the body by the close-fitting base layer.
The manufacturer does not specify separate EN 1621 certification or a Level 1 or Level 2 rating for these side inserts. They should therefore not be described as certified hip protectors.
P.O.I. protector technology
The chest, back, shoulder and elbow inserts use Acerbis P.O.I. technology based on viscoelastic material. During normal use, the protectors remain soft and flexible, allowing them to follow the rider’s anatomy.
During an impact, the material helps absorb and distribute energy acting on the protected area. It can return to its original form after temporary loading, provided that it has not suffered mechanical or structural damage.
The use of memory-type foam does not mean the protector can automatically continue to be used after every fall. Following a significant impact, the inserts should be removed and checked for tearing, permanent deformation or other damage.
Highly breathable Dryarn fabric
The body armour uses a lightweight knitted base layer incorporating Dryarn technology. The fabric is flexible and soft, adapting to the torso and arms so that the protectors can remain close to the rider without large external shells.
The material helps move moisture away from the skin and transfer perspiration towards outer clothing, where it can evaporate. It cannot prevent sweating, but it helps reduce the sensation of wearing heavy, saturated fabric during longer rides.
Its elasticity supports forward lean, torso rotation, elbow flexion and the other movements required during motocross and technical enduro riding.
Bacteriostatic properties
The fabric has bacteriostatic properties that help limit the growth of bacteria within the textile. This can help reduce the development of unpleasant odours during intensive use.
Bacteriostatic properties do not replace regular washing or correct drying. After riding, the armour should be aired and should not remain sealed inside a damp equipment bag.
Cool-touch fabric
The X-Fit Future uses a lightweight knit designed to provide a cooler-touch sensation. Together with its ventilation zones, this improves comfort during warmer conditions.
The fabric may reduce the feeling of overheating compared with heavier and less breathable textiles, but it cannot completely prevent perspiration or eliminate the heat produced during physical activity.
Strategically positioned mesh zones
Mesh sections are positioned in areas where heat and moisture commonly accumulate: the arms, sides, underarms, chest and back.
Their more open structure allows air to circulate around the protective inserts and helps release heat from uncovered areas. This is beneficial during motocross training, technical enduro and warm-weather riding.
The protective inserts inevitably reduce airflow through the areas they cover. Strategically positioned mesh nevertheless helps ventilate their surroundings.
All-season use
The armour is designed as a protective base layer for use in a range of temperatures. During warmer conditions, it supports ventilation and moisture management; in cooler weather, it can be combined with a jersey, jacket or additional clothing layers.
The all-season description does not mean the armour provides sufficient thermal insulation for winter riding on its own. Outer layers must always be selected according to temperature, riding intensity and journey length.
Close-fitting, low-profile construction
The chest, back, shoulder and elbow protectors are soft, thin and ergonomically shaped. They therefore create less bulk underneath a motocross jersey than extensive rigid-shell armour.
The close fit helps limit movement of the inserts and prevents excess material from gathering. The armour should follow the body without restricting breathing, circulation or natural arm movement.
Outer clothing must not be so tight that it deforms the protective inserts or pushes them away from the intended areas.
Side zip fastening
A long side zip opens the armour away from the centre of the chest. This maintains a continuous protective area across the front and reduces pressure from the fastening on the middle of the body.
The side opening makes the armour easier to put on and remove without excessively stretching the fabric. Before riding, check that the zip is completely closed and that no surrounding material is caught in it.
Removable protective inserts
The chest, back, shoulder and elbow protectors can be removed from the garment. This allows the base layer to be washed separately and makes it easier to inspect every protective component.
All inserts must be removed before washing, and the care symbols and instructions on the product label must be followed. Unless specifically permitted by the manufacturer, the inserts should not be machine washed, wrung out or exposed to high temperatures.
Once dry, every insert must be returned to the correct pocket, positioned in the correct orientation and checked for secure placement.
Neck-brace compatibility
The low-profile chest and back protectors support use with a suitable motorcycle neck protector.
The helmet, neck protector and body armour should be tried on together before riding. The individual components must not push against one another or restrict normal head rotation, flexion or extension.
Actual compatibility depends on the particular neck-protector model, the selected body-armour size and the rider’s proportions.
Available sizes
The Acerbis X-Fit Future Level 2 Body Armour is available in:
S/M,
L/XL,
XXL.
The chest insert must remain centred over the chest, the back protector should follow the spinal area and the shoulder and elbow inserts must cover the relevant joints. A size that is too loose may allow movement during a fall, while one that is too tight may restrict breathing and mobility.
Road use
The X-Fit Future is primarily an impact protector for motocross, enduro, mountain biking and other sporting activities. The knitted garment itself does not provide full abrasion resistance during a prolonged slide on asphalt.
For road riding, it should therefore be combined with suitable abrasion-resistant outer motorcycle clothing.
