Yes, it has a water-repellent finish and can be supplemented with a 5K/5K waterproof membrane (sold separately).

No, it serves as a thermal insert inside the jacket.

The shoulders and elbows are certified according to EN 1621-1:2012 Type A, Level 1. The back protector can be purchased separately (D3O® Viper Air FB or SF 851 FB Level 2).
4. How does the ventilation work?
Mesh openings on the chest and back can be zipped open to improve airflow in warm weather.
