Ventilated body armour for motocross and enduro

The Acerbis Plasma 2.0 is an upper-body protector designed for motocross, enduro, mountain biking and other forms of off-road riding. It protects the chest, back, shoulders and elbows while maintaining a low-profile, flexible construction that supports natural movement on the motorcycle.

Fabric is limited to the areas needed to connect and stabilise the individual protectors. The remaining sections are left open, promoting airflow around the rider’s body and reducing heat build-up underneath the protective equipment.

Level 2 chest, back, shoulder and elbow protection

The Plasma 2.0 covers the main vulnerable areas of the upper body. The chest, back, shoulder and elbow protectors all meet Level 2 requirements.

Its multi-layer construction combines viscoelastic impact-absorbing materials with a semi-rigid external biofoam layer. The softer internal section adapts to the shape of the body, while the outer layer helps distribute direct impacts and maintain the protector’s shape.

This construction combines impact protection with flexibility, reduced thickness and less restricted movement than conventional rigid plastic shells.

Open construction supporting airflow

Heat can quickly build up between the rider’s body, jersey and protective equipment during technical enduro or longer motocross sessions. The Plasma 2.0 therefore uses lightweight perforated protectors and open areas that allow air to circulate continuously.

Textile sections are limited to essential areas, leaving a large proportion of the upper body uncovered. This supports heat release and reduces the amount of fabric that can absorb perspiration.

The ventilated design is particularly useful during slower technical riding, long climbs, racing and warm-weather use.

Flexible design for natural movement

The soft protective sections adapt to upper-body and arm movement. The shoulder and elbow protectors are positioned inside perforated stretch sleeves that keep them close to the body without rigid plastic connections.

Padded shoulder sections help distribute the weight of the armour and improve stability while riding. The flexible construction allows natural arm movement when controlling the motorcycle, standing on the footpegs or shifting body weight through corners.

Adjustable fit

Elastic side sections help the protector follow the shape of the rider’s torso. The waist can be adjusted using a double hook-and-loop closure, allowing the required level of tightness to be set.

An elastic stabilising band is also included for additional support. Correctly adjusted armour should remain close to the body without restricting breathing or normal upper-body movement.

Sizes S/M, L/XL and XXL allow riders to select a fit suited to their body shape.

Neck-brace compatibility

The low-profile flexible construction allows the Plasma 2.0 to be combined with a suitable neck brace.

The helmet, neck brace and body armour should be tried on together before riding. The individual components should not push against one another or restrict normal head movement.
