Lightweight chest and back protection for motocross and enduro

The Acerbis Armour DNA 2.0 is a chest and back protector designed for motocross, enduro, mountain biking and other forms of off-road riding. It combines a low-profile flexible construction with certified Level 2 protection, providing extensive upper-body coverage without the unnecessary bulk of a conventional rigid plastic shell.

The new generation builds on the original DNA protector with a redesigned multi-layer structure focused on improved ventilation, freedom of movement and a stable fit. Depending on the rider’s equipment and preferences, it can be worn underneath or over a riding jersey.

Multi-layer protective construction

The chest and back sections combine soft impact-absorbing materials with a semi-rigid external biofoam layer. The softer inner layers adapt to the rider’s body, while the external surface helps protect against direct impacts and maintains the shape of the protector.

This two-component construction combines impact protection with reduced thickness and flexibility. It follows upper-body movement more naturally than conventional protectors made entirely from rigid plastic panels.

Both the chest and back protectors meet Level 2 requirements.

Freedom of movement while riding

The low-profile design reduces the overall bulk of the protective equipment and supports movement when riding seated, standing on the footpegs or shifting body weight through corners. Its flexible structure adapts to torso movement without unnecessarily restricting the arms and shoulders.

Ergonomically shaped protective sections follow the body and remain close to the protected areas when the correct size is worn. The protector is suitable for training, racing and longer off-road rides.

Ventilation for demanding riding

The chest and back structures are designed to support continuous airflow. Ventilation openings and the arrangement of the individual layers help release heat that builds up between the rider’s body, the protector and the jersey.

The ventilated construction improves comfort during longer training sessions, racing and warm-weather riding.

Adjustable fit

The waist can be adjusted using a double hook-and-loop fastening system. This allows the protector to be adapted to the rider’s body shape, clothing layers and preferred level of tightness.

An elastic stabilising band is also included. It provides an additional fitting option and helps keep the chest and back sections close to the body during active movement.

The protector should be adjusted firmly enough to remain stable without restricting breathing or normal upper-body movement.

Neck-brace compatibility

The low thickness and flexible construction allow the protector to be combined with a suitable neck brace. The helmet, neck brace and body protector should not push against one another or restrict normal head movement.

The complete protective setup should therefore be tried on together and checked before riding.
