Protective shorts for motocross, enduro and MTB

The Acerbis Hard Rush protective shorts are designed for motocross, enduro, mountain biking and other forms of off-road riding. They combine rigid thigh protectors with padding around the hips and coccyx, extending coverage to areas of the lower body that are vulnerable during falls and contact with the motorcycle.

The close-fitting construction is designed to be worn underneath riding trousers. Stretch materials, anatomically positioned protectors and breathable mesh help maintain freedom of movement when riding seated, standing on the footpegs or shifting body weight through technical terrain.

Rigid thigh protection

The thighs are covered by rigid protectors designed to increase resistance against impacts and abrasion. Their shaped construction follows the thigh area and helps keep the protective sections close to the body when the correct size is worn.

The thigh protectors comply with EN 1621-1, Level 1. This certification confirms their impact-energy absorption performance under the prescribed laboratory testing conditions.

Hip and coccyx padding

The hips are covered by soft biofoam padding, extending protection without bulky rigid shells. The rear section also covers the coccyx, an area exposed to direct contact with the ground during backward or sideways falls.

The multi-layer construction combines rigid and soft protective elements. This provides coverage of vulnerable areas while maintaining the flexibility required for active movement on a motorcycle or bicycle.

Breathable multi-layer construction

The shorts use breathable mesh fabric to support airflow and release excess heat. This helps improve comfort during longer training sessions, technical enduro riding and use in warm conditions.

The multi-layer structure combines materials with different levels of strength and flexibility. The protective sections help manage impact energy, while the textile base follows the movement of the body.

Stable fit while riding

An elastic waistband adapts to the rider’s body and helps keep the shorts correctly positioned underneath riding trousers. The close-fitting cut reduces unwanted movement of the protectors when changing position on the motorcycle.

Silicone elements around the thighs improve grip against the legs and help prevent the lower edges from riding up. This supports a stable fit while pedalling, standing on the footpegs or moving actively through off-road terrain.

Reinforcement in vulnerable areas

High-risk areas are reinforced to withstand contact with the motorcycle, clothing and surrounding terrain. The construction helps protect against both impact and abrasion caused by falls or repeated friction.

The Hard Rush shorts can be combined with knee guards and upper-body protection. The individual protectors should not overlap excessively, as this could restrict movement or create pressure points while riding.

The thigh protectors comply with EN 1621-1, Level 1. This certification applies to the thigh protectors and does not automatically include the hip and coccyx padding.
